It is essential that all driver components in modern loudspeaker enclosures should operate correctly. This is particularly important when using line array systems and multiple full frequency 'wave guide' enclosures, where even a single component failure can result in a catastrophic reduction in audio quality, projection and directional control.
Unfortunately, checking individual components within these enclosures is always problematic, and sometimes, with multiple drivers in the same frequency band, almost impossible.
The TourTech 'Check - Mate'
loudspeaker checker is a simple answer to this difficult problem.
Simply connect the appropriate speaker cable, switch to either
'DOSC' or 'Other' and 'Check - Mate' s LED's indicate the circuit
continuity of all components in that enclosure (passive crossover
enclosures excluded). Once checked, the working enclosure can
be used together with the 'Check
- Mate' to test the reliability
of all other cables applicable to that cabinet.
On tour - easily check enclosures and cables prior to rigging, discovering component failures before it is too late (avoiding inconvenient de-rigs of systems already hung or stacked). Better still, check after each show for advance warning of problems before tomorrows set-up.
In the shop - 'Check - Mate' is an invaluable aid for rapid checks of rental speaker enclosures and cables going out or coming back into stock.
